Aimia is committed to the highest standards of corporate and social responsibility. We commit to the following:
• Legal Compliance - we comply and exceed all regulatory requirements in respect of wastage, pollution and health & safety standards for employees.
• Continuous improvement of environmental performance - with continuous monitoring and improvement of air and water pollution.
• Community - we acknowledge we have an important duty to employees, customers, suppliers and the community in which we operate. We respectfully carry out all operations to ensure our business has an overwhelmingly positive impact within the local area.
• Resources - conserving resources through energy efficiency and minimising waste where possible by re-use, recycling and recovery. For example our manufacturing lines now recover all waste materials, which are separated by material type ready for recovery.
• Packaging & Literature - wherever practicable, we use recycled material in packaging, mark packaging for easy separation of recyclable elements and our corporate literature and sales materials are produced on paper certified as originating from sustainable sources (FSC).
• Fair & Ethically Sourced Products - our product range includes many fair and ethically sourced products, including coffees sourced from the FNC (Federacion Nacionale de Cafeteros de Colombia); Fairtrade Certified and Rainforest Alliance Certified options. In fact around 85% of our coffee, 95% of our tea and 20% of our hot chocolate sales are for fair & ethically certified products.
• Health – we undertake continuous improvements in product recipe and seek to enhance nutritional standards where possible. Our business was an early pioneer of HVO free technology for hot chocolate, milk and whiteners and we were the first and still the only business supplying a school meals nutritional standard dilutable juice drink within primary schools.
